Three-Dimensional Composite Drainage Network The Key To Successful

A three-dimensional composite drainage network is a new type of
geosynthetic material, mainly consisting of a three-dimensional
geotechnical mesh core and non-woven geotechnical fabrics adhered
to both sides. The middle bars of this material have high rigidity
and are arranged longitudinally, forming drainage channels. The
upper and lower cross bars form support, preventing the
geotechnical fabric from embedding into the drainage channel, thus
ensuring good drainage performance even under high load.
Main Functions and Uses
The main function of the three-dimensional composite drainage
network is drainage. It can quickly drain the groundwater of the
road while having the ability to block capillary water and maintain
the pore system. In addition, it can also play the role of
isolation and foundation reinforcement. Due to these properties, it
is widely used in various engineering applications such as landfill
drainage, road base and surface drainage, railway drainage, tunnel
drainage, underground structure drainage, retaining wall back
drainage, and garden and sports field drainage.
Construction Methods
During the construction process, the first step is to treat the
foundation, level and compact the lower layer, and ensure that the
flatness and compaction meet the requirements. Then, on the
well-leveled subgrade, a composite drainage net is laid, requiring
the material to be smooth and tightly attached to the subgrade,
avoiding twists, folds, or overlaps. The overlapping parts need to
be fixed with U-shaped nails or connectors. After completion of the
laying, self-inspection and backfilling treatment are also required
to ensure the quality and functionality of the drainage net.
